Gary Cash and Jim Cash in front of the Stanley Industries sponsored ARCA Racecar.
For over 40 years Stanley Industries President, Jim Cash, has enjoyed drag racing at tracks such as Milan Dragway, Detroit Dragway (now closed), and Norwalk Raceway Park (now called Summit Motorsports Park).
The red dragster (above) is driven by Jim’s brother and fellow racing enthusiast, Gary Cash. It has a 557 cu.in., 1150 hp Ford engine that has hit 181 mph in the 1/4 mile at an impressive time of 7.33 seconds.
The blue dragster is driven by a John Desormeau, a well know salesman for Bill Brown Ford (Livonia, MI). It boasts a 521 cu.in., 950 hp Ford engine that posted speeds up to 172 mph in 7.68 seconds. These dragsters are seen frequently at Milan Dragway (Milan, MI) as well as Summit Motorsports Park (Norwalk, OH).
Jim Cash is seen here racing his brothers 1970 GTO. He sold his 1967 – 427 Ford Fairlane over 30 years ago; however, he really wishes he had it back.
